Councillor Paul Claussen
Paul is Executive Member for Economic Development and Growth on Breckland Council.
Elected as a Breckland District Councillor in 1999, he initially represented the Two Rivers Ward. Following boundary changes, this became the Mattishall Ward which covers eight villages as a large, two member ward.
He was appointed as an Executive Support Member in 1999, and joining the Cabinet as Executive Member for Finance six months later. Other the years, Paul has held every portfolio within the Council. He has also served as Deputy Leader, stepping down from this position in 2023. He briefly left the Cabinet in 2011 to serve as Chairman of the Council.
Outside of his political career, Paul enjoys playing golf and watching sports he once played - including rugby, football, athletics, and tennis. He also has a passion for theatre, dining out, and walking his dogs through the Norfolk countryside.
