About the Board

Norfolk Business Board is a partnership between business, education, the voluntary sector, and local government.

Our board members come from a variety of background across the county. Together, they provide a strong, independent, and diverse local voice for business in Norfolk. This informs decision-making for the county, and ensures it is a place where local business can flourish and grow the economy.

Our aims

We want to:

  • Drive an economy that is vibrant, entrepreneurial, inclusive, and sustainable
  • Support our economy with the right jobs, skills, training, and infrastructure
  • Work well for our businesses and people, giving everyone the best opportunities for success

How we work

The Board follows strong governance to ensure that we're making good recommendations. Download the Business Board terms of reference (PDF) [1MB] to learn more about how we operate.

We meet four to six times a year and share information about our meetings - including what we say and agree at them.

We work closely with partners such as district councils, neighbouring counties, and national economic and trade bodies.

The Board was set up in April 2024, when the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) integrated into Norfolk County Council and Suffolk County Council. This followed a Government decision to transfer the functions of LEPs to local authorities.
