What is the purpose of this document?

This privacy notice explains how we, the Norfolk Business Board (Norfolk County Council), uses any personal information you give to us online on our website, and the ways in which we protect your privacy when visiting us online.

We have legal reasons under the UK GDPR to use your information because you have provided consent.

Our website contains links to other external websites but, please be aware, this privacy notice only applies only to our site. So you should always take care when you are moving to another site and read the privacy statement of any site which collects personal information. Norfolk County Council accepts no responsibility or liability for these sites.

We do not pass on any personal information you have given us to any other site.

How long we keep your information 

We will only retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, when the information is no longer needed for the above reasons it will be securely deleted.

Your information will be retained for 28 days and then securely deleted.

If we need to use your information after 28 days for evaluation or reports, your information will be anonymised.

How we keep your information

The information is stored electronically, on the County Council's network. Additionally, information is securely stored in other mediums, such as email accounts.

We do not process your information outside of the UK and European Economic Area.

Automated decision making

We do not make automated decisions (including profiling) about you.

Your rights under the UK GDPR

You have the following rights (but note, these rights do not apply in all circumstances):

  • Your right to be informed about the processing of your personal information.  This is the purpose of this notice.
  • Your right to have your personal information corrected if it is inaccurate and to have incomplete personal information completed
  • Your right to object to the processing of your personal data
  • Your right to restrict processing of your personal information
  • Your right to have your personal data erased ("the right to be forgotten"). As above, please note this right is subject to several restrictions, which we will discuss further with you if you choose to exercise it.
  • The right to move, copy or transfer your personal information ("data portability").  This only applies to personal data processed under the GDPR and only in certain limited circumstances.  This right does not apply to personal data processed under the DPA.
  • Rights to be notified of, object to and challenge any automated decision made in respect of you, including profiling
  • Your right to request access to your personal information and information about how the County Council processes it
  • Your right to withdraw any consent you have given for the processing of personal data at any time
