Councillor John Toye

John is the Cabinet Member for Sustainable Growth on North Norfolk District Council. First elected in 2019, he took on his current role in April 2024. He has previously been Chairman of the Governance, Risk and Audit Committee. He has also served on the Development Committee and the Overview and Scrutiny Committee. 

Before becoming a District Councillor, John ran small food businesses with his wife. He served 23 years as an engineer in the Royal Air Force and is the secretary of his local branch of the Royal Air Forces Association. He has also worked as a technology technician in a high school and a corporate chauffeur. 

John is currently Vice-Chair of the Norfolk Police and Crime Panel.
