Councillor Kay Mason Billig

Kay is Leader of Norfolk County Council. She was elected as Leader on 9 May 2023, having been re-elected for a second time as County Councillor in 2021.

She has also been a South Norfolk District Councillor since 2011. She was Deputy Leader of South Norfolk Council from 2018 until her appointment as Leader of Norfolk County Council. Her political career has been a long one, having fought the parliamentary seat of Norwich North in 2001.

Kay's background is in legal, where she had a career in the marine sciences industry in Great Yarmouth. During this time, she progressed to the position of Group Company Secretary. She has also travelled and worked in both Egypt and Brazil. She has lived or worked in every part of the county, and currently lives in South Norfolk.
