Stephen Crocker

Stephen is Chief Executive and Creative Director of Norwich Theatre. He began his career as a professional classical singer before entering the cultural sector. Before his move to Norwich in 2016, he spent nine years at The Lowry. During this time, he progressed from Development Director to Deputy Chief Executive.

Norwich Theatre covers three venues: Norwich Theatre Royal, the Playhouse, and Stage Two. It also produces a growing portfolio of national and international touring work through Norwich Theatre Beyond.

Stephen leads all aspects of Norwich Theatre's artistic and commercial work. During his tenure, he has pioneered its bold new 'Creative Experiences' strategy and several award-winning programmes and projects. This includes the organisation's sector-leading response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Stephen has undertaken a range of non-executive appointments and is currently co-chair of Dance Consortium. He is a board member of The Touring Partnership, Norfolk and Suffolk Culture Board, and Norwich BID.
